IFFCO TOKIO Travel Protector Policy provides financial protection to you while you’re traveling. IFFCO TOKIO Travel Protector Policy Health Cover

Under this policy, you’ll get coverage against the following medical expenses:

  1. Outpatient treatment.
  2. In-patient treatment in a local hospital
  3. Medical aid necessary for the treatment of broken limbs or injuries
  4. Radiotherapy, heat therapy or phototherapy and other treatment prescribed by a physician.
  5. X-ray or diagnostic tests
  6. Cost of transportation for medical attention at the nearest hospital or from the nearest available physician
  7. Life-saving unforeseen emergency measures
  8. Dental treatment
  9. Transportation costs from the foreign country to the insured person’s permanent country of residence
  10. Costs for an accompanying person, if it is medically necessary or officially required
  11. Transportation of the mortal remains
  12. Hospital daily allowance if the insured is hospitalized for more than 48 hours. The insurer will pay 30 US$ per day, subject to the maximum limit as mentioned in the policy schedule.

Balance Period

If Paramount Health Services/ Europ Assistance advises continuing the medical treatment in the Republic of India, the insurer will pay the medical expenses incurred in the country. You’ll get coverage for the treatment up to 30 days beyond the insurance period, provided the disease/injury/illness is contracted within the insurance period.

Other Coverages of IFFCO TOKIO Travel Protector Policy

Other than the medical expenses, the insurer shall also cover the following expenses incurred during the trip:

Total Loss of Baggage: The insurer will reimburse the total loss of baggage up to the limits stipulated in the policy schedule. The amount payable in respect of Total Loss of Baggage is subject to the following conditions:

  1. Any one article, pair or set is limited to the amount stated in the policy schedule
  2. File a report to the police within 24 hours after you become aware of the loss.
  3. Submit all the reports concerning the loss
  4. The insurer will pay the market value of the lost items as a compensation amount

Delay of Baggage: The insurer will pay up to the limit shown in the policy schedule in case of a temporary loss of baggage, provided the delay of baggage is for more than 12 hours from the scheduled arrival time. To claim this benefit, you need to submit written proof of the delay from the carrier. Submit the receipts of the essential personal items you buy.

Hijack Distress Allowance: In case an air or sea common carrier in which you are traveling is hijacked for more than 12 hours, the insurer will pay the 125 US$ for each day to each insured person up to the limit as mentioned in the policy schedule.

Loss of Passport: If your passport is lost, the insurer will pay you an amount as stipulated in the policy schedule.

Financial Emergency Assistance: In the event of theft, pilferage, robbery, dacoity of travel funds, the insurer will pay up to the amount as stipulated in the policy schedule.

Personal Liability: In case of legal liability to a third party resulting in death, injury or damage to the health of a person or damage to his/her properties, the insurer will pay an amount up to the limit as stipulated in the policy schedule, provided that the incident takes place on a trip abroad.

Personal Accident: On your trip abroad, if you meet an accident that leads to death or subsequent disablement, you will receive the following benefits:

Death Benefit: If the accidental injury results in the death of the insured person within one year from the date of the accident, the insurer will pay the sum insured as mentioned in the policy schedule to the legal heir.

Permanent Disablement: If the accidental injury causes permanent impairment of mental or physical capabilities, a percentage of the sum insured shall be payable to you depending upon the degree of disablement:

Note: This benefit is payable only if the disablement occurs within a year from the date of the accident. Permanent disablement must be confirmed and claimed before the expiry of a further period of 3 months.

Free Look Period

You will have a free look period of 15 days from the date of receipt of the policy to review the terms and conditions of this policy. During this free look period, you can return the same if the terms and conscience are not acceptable to you, stating the reasons for your cancellation. On such cancellation, you’ll be entitled to a refund of the paid premium if you have not made any claim during the free look period. Where the risk has already commenced, the refund shall be made after a deduction towards the proportionate risk premium for the period of cover less any expenses incurred by the insurer. If only a part of the risk has commenced, such proportionate risk premium commensurates with the risk covered during the free look period less any expenses incurred by the insurer on medical examination and the stamp duty charges.
