Coverage for Medical Treatment Expenses

If an insured person faces an illness or accident while traveling, this plan from Future Generali covers the expenses incurred on the medical treatment up to 2,50,000 USD. It includes medical evacuation and repatriation, mental & nervous disorders, maternity benefits and emergency dental treatment.

Tuition Fee

International Student Travel Insurance Plan will provide reimbursement of used tuition fees up to 25,000 USD if you suffer from either of the following conditions and are unable to continue your studies (for the remaining part of a school semester)

  1. If an insured person is hospitalized (for more than one consecutive month) due to an injury or sickness or in case of a terminal illness
  2. In case of accidental death of an immediate family member

Personal Care and Travel Inconvenience

Under this benefit section, you will get coverage in the following situations.

  1. Coverage against loss of checked-in baggage up to 3,000 USD (with a deductible of 50%)
  2. Delay of checked-in baggage cover up to 150 USD

If your sponsor dies or faces a permanent disability due to an accident, the policy will reimburse the tuition fee incurred on the remaining period of your education up to 15,000 USD.

What is the Minimum Premium Amount?

The premium amount under the plan depends on the sum insured, plan type and the period of travel. The minimum amount stands at INR 825 for the sum insured of 50,000 USD for a travel period of 30 days.

Do I Need to Undergo Pre-acceptance Medical Tests?

If there is no adverse health declaration in your proposal form, you don’t need to undergo pre-acceptance medical tests. In case of a declaration, you will need to undergo medical tests before purchasing the plan. However, 50% of the expenses incurred on the test charges are reimbursed if you have a Future Generali Health Insurance Plan.

Note: Medical test reports remain valid for 30 days after they are conducted.

What is Not Covered Under the Plan?

Under the International Student Travel Insurance Plan from Future Generali, you will not get coverage in the following situations.

  1. Pre-existing diseases & complications (Before the inception of your first policy) until the completion of 48 consecutive months from the date of inception of the first policy
  2. Congenital anomalies or any complications or conditions arising therefrom
  3. Suicide, attempted suicide or intentionally self-inflicted injury or illness
  4. Sexually transmitted conditions, anxiety, stress or depression, Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS), Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection
  5. Being under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or other intoxicants or hallucinogens (Unless properly prescribed by a physician and taken as prescribed)
  6. Illness and accidents from war and warlike occurrences or invasion act of foreign enemies, hostilities, civil war, rebellion, insurrection, civil commotion, etc.
  7. Active participation in riots, confiscation or nationalization or requisition of or destruction of or damage to property by or under the order of any government or local authority
