Different Modes of SBI Life Insurance Premium Payment

SBI Life Insurance Premium Payment can be made online as well as offline. Whatever suits you, choose that route to pay the premium. We’ve described all these payment modes below for you to understand.

Pay Premium on SBI Life Website

You can pay your premium online without any hassle if you are registered on the SBI Life Portal. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official website of SBI Life Insurance
  2. Log in to your account
  3. Click on the ‘Online Premium Payment’ option
  4. Enter your Policy Number, Date of Birth, Mobile Number and Email ID
  5. Click on the ‘Submit’ button

You can do payments through Credit Card, Net Banking or Debit Card.

Note: Online premium payment can be done 30 days in advance of the premium due date. However, if you miss your premium on the due date, you can still pay the premium online for up to 5 months and 25 days from the premium due date. Upon the receipt of every successful transaction, you will get a Success Report and Premium Acknowledgement Receipt instantly on your registered email/mobile. The Renewal Premium Receipt will be sent after adjustment or allocation of the premium amount.

Pay SBI Life Insurance Premium via Auto-Payment Facility

Your SBI Life Insurance Premium Payment shall be done automatically from your credit card or bank account if you register for auto-pay service. To register for the same, follow the steps shown below:

For Credit Card Auto Pay

  1. Visit the official website of SBI Life Insurance
  2. Log in to your account
  3. Select ‘Pay through Credit Card’
  4. Click on the “One Time Payment + Standing Instruction” button
  5. Enter the Policy number, Date of Birth, PAN Number, Email ID and Mobile Number
  6. Click on the ‘Proceed’ button

Important Note

  1. Autopay facility is available only for Master/Visa Credit cards.
  2. For authentication purposes, INR 2 will be charged to the card, which shall be later refunded within 14 days.
  3. The Standing Instruction activation request will be processed within 5 working days.
  4. In case your policy already has an active Auto Pay mode on it, it will be automatically deactivated
  5. The premium falling due within the next 15 days will not get debited from your credit card
  6. To discontinue this facility, send an email to info@sbilife.co.in. 15 days before the next premium due date

To set up an auto-debit of SBI Life Insurance Premium Payment to your bank account, submit the duly filled Mandate form and canceled cheque at the SBI Life Insurance branch office

Note: The direct debit facility is available to the account holders of State Bank of India, Axis Bank, CITI Bank, ICICI Bank, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank of India, Bank of India, IndusInd Bank, Punjab National Bank and Kotak Bank only.

Do Payments at State Bank of India ATMs

You can pay your SBI Life Insurance premiums through all State Bank ATMs by following the steps shown below:

  1. Insert your card
  2. Go to the Services
  3. Click on the ‘Bill Pay’ button
  4. Select ‘SBI Life Insurance
  5. Enter your Policy Number and Date of Birth
  6. Now Make Payment

What If You Miss SBI Life Insurance Premium Payment?

If due to any reason you have missed your premium payment, you can pay the premium within a grace period of 30 days (Quarterly, Semi-Annual & Annual mode policies) and 15 (monthly mode policies). The interest is not charged during the grace period, but if the premium is paid after the grace period, you need to pay interest.

In case your policy is lapsed due to non-payment of premiums, you can revive the policy within the stipulated time as shown in your policy document. To revive your policy, pay the outstanding premium with interest and submit proof of continued good health to the nearest SBI Life Branch.

Note: Online premium payment option for lapsed policies is not allowed.

What are the Benefits of Regular SBI Life Insurance Premium Payment

If you pay your SBI Life Insurance premium without any delay, you will receive the following benefits:

  1. Policy benefits (death benefit, maturity benefit and any other benefit applicable) without any interruption
  2. Tax benefits as per the applicable tax laws. To avail of tax benefits, you need to submit a premium paid certificate that will be available online on the SBI Life Insurance official website. A premium paid certificate is the summary of the total premium paid during the financial year.
