Cashless Claim Procedure at Star Health Network Hospitals

To claim your insurance at a Network Hospital, you need to follow the steps shown below –

  1. Visit the network hospital
  2. Notify the insurer
  3. Show your Star Health ID card at the hospital reception
  4. Provide the pre-admission investigation and doctor’s consultation papers to the hospital
  5. After that, the  network hospital will submit the duly filled pre-authorization form to Star Health
  6. The insurer will verify the documents
  7. An assigned field doctor may visit you at the hospital if required
  8. After discharge, the network hospital will send the claim documents to the company

Documents Required for Cashless Claim

  1. Health card
  2. Doctor’s consultation papers
  3. Discharge summary
  4. Investigation reports -. X-ray, scans, blood report, etc.
  5. Pharmacy invoices along with the prescription
  6. In cases of accidents, Medico-Legal Certificate (MLC) or FIR
  7. KYC documents if the claimed amount is greater than INR 1,00,000

Note: Documents other than the Health Card should be submitted in original.

What if Your Cashless Claim at a Star Health Network Hospital is Disapproved?

In such situations, you can seek reimbursement, which is another way to get your medical expenses covered. Firstly, the insured needs to notify the insurer about the hospitalization. And upon discharge, you need to pay all hospital bills and collect the original documents of treatment he/she has undergone. After that, download a claim form from the Star Health official website, fill in the form and submit it at the nearest Star Office along with the following documents –

  1. Copy of Health card
  2. Pre-admission investigations and the doctor’s consultation reports
  3. Discharge summary
  4. Investigation reports – X-ray, scans, blood reports, etc.
  5. Pharmacy invoices with valid prescriptions
  6. Case receipts from the hospital, chemist
  7. Medico-Legal Certificate (MLC) and FIR (in case of accident only)
  8. Copy of the KYC documents
  9. NEFT details, Contact number and email ID
