What is the Cashless Claim Procedure at Star Health Insurance Network Hospital in Chandigarh?

To file a cashless claim, you need to go through the below steps –

  • Notify the insurance company about the claim by calling the customer care number
  • Visit the hospital and show your health card and submit your pre-admission investigation report and doctor’s consultation papers at the reception if any
  • Post reviewing the documents, the hospital will send these to the insurer along with the duly filled pre-authorization form
  • The doctors of the insurance company check the documents and approve the claim
  • Later on, an assigned doctor is sent from Star Health Insurance to check your condition
  • After your discharge, the hospital will send the necessary documents related to your illness or injury to the insurance company for claim processing. Upon the receipt of such documents, the company will settle the bills directly with the hospital

Note – The company won’t pay for the expenses not covered under the policy, so pay them before your discharge from the hospital.

How to File a Cashless Claim at Different Types of Hospitalization?

Check out the procedure for different hospitalizations-

For Planned Hospitalization – In case of scheduled treatment, follow the steps shown below –

  • Notify the insurer about the admission a day before
  • The network hospital will send a duly filled pre-authorization form to the insurer through its portal, fax it to 1800 425 5522 or email it to – cashless.network@starhealth.in.
  • While going to the network hospital, keep your Star Health ID card as the same will be required for verification purposes.

For Emergency Hospitalization – If you are admitted to the network hospital in a hurry due to an accident or sudden diagnosis of an illness, follow the below steps –

  • Notify the insurer about the hospitalization
  • Upon revealing the intimation of claims, the customer care will verify the validity and coverage of your policy.
  • Later, a doctor from Star Health visits the network hospital if required

What to do if the Star Health Insurance Network Hospital isn’t Near You?

In such a case, you can go to a non-network hospital and receive treatment for the illness/injury. Upon discharge, pay your bills and collect the necessary documents related to your admission from the hospital. Now, apply for a reimbursement claim by following the below steps –

  • Notify the insurer about the hospitalization within 24 hours
  • Provide the copy of health card, duly filled claim form, pre-admission investigations and doctor’s consultation papers, discharge summary from the hospital, investigation reports (e.g. X-ray, scans, blood report, etc.), pharmacy invoices with prescriptions, cash receipts from the hospital/chemist, copy of the KYC documents, NEFT details, contact number and e-mail ID to the insurer within 15 days of your discharge
  • Submit a Medico-Legal Certificate (MLC) and First Information Report (FIR) along with the above in case of an accidental hospitalization
  • Upon approval of the claim, the insurance company will transfer the claim amount to your linked bank account
