What Do You Need to Do For Cashless Treatment at the Above Network Hospitals?

A Third Party Administrator (TPA) acts as an intermediary between you and the insurance company to get you cashless treatment. So, intimate the TPA and follow the below steps to apply for a claim –

  • Get admitted to the hospital
  • Intimate the claim 72 hours before the planned admission and within 24 hours of emergency admission
  • Give information such as – name and address of the hospital, the condition requiring hospitalization, etc.
  • Now, the hospital will send a pre-authorization request for cashless treatment to the TPA
  • On successful approval, cashless treatment can be received at the network hospital

What if No National Insurance Network Hospital is Nearby?

In such a case, you have the option to get treatment at a non-network hospital. Once you’re admitted, pay the bills for your treatment. And on discharge collect the necessary documents from the hospital. Later, apply for a claim by following the below steps –

  • Mail or fax the claim intimation within 72 hours of emergency hospitalization and 72 hours before a planned admission.
  • Collect the discharge summary, investigation report and other relevant documents (Claim form – Part A & Part B) from the hospital authorities and submit them to the TPA within 15 days from the date of your discharge from the hospital.
  • After the successful approval, the amount will be reimbursed to your bank account

List of Documents for a Reimbursement Claim

Submit the following documents to the insurer to seek reimbursement –

  • A duly filled claim form (Part A & Part B)
  • Attending medical practitioner’s certificate regarding diagnosis and bill receipts etc.
  • Original payment receipt, investigation test reports, etc.
  • Attending medical practitioner’s prescriptions
  • Surgeon’s original certificate showing the diagnosis and nature of operation performed besides bills/receipts etc.
  • Original cash-memo from the hospital (s)/chemist (s) supported by proper prescription
  • Original bills, payment receipts, medical history of the patient, discharge certificate/ summary from the hospital, etc.
