You can receive cashless treatment at 20+ network hospitals of National Insurance in Guwahati on having its health insurance. How to Avail of Cashless Treatment?

Contact the Third Party Administrator (TPA), who is the intermediary between you and the insurance company, to intimate the claim. Do so 72 hours before the planned admission and within 24 hours of emergency admission. Here’s a list of steps you need to follow at the National Insurance Network Hospital in Guwahati –

  • Provide information such as – the name and address of the network hospital, the condition, etc.
  • Later, the network provider will send a duly filled pre-authorization request to the TPA
  • On approval, you and the network hospital will get a notification

Alternatives to Cashless Treatment

You can exercise reimbursement in which you need to pay the bills for your treatment upfront. The insurer would reimburse you the same at a later date should you ensure the following –

  • Mail or fax the TPA about the claim within 72 hours of emergency hospitalization and 72 hours before a planned admission.
  • Submit the discharge summary, investigation report and other relevant documents (Claim form – Part A & Part B) to the TPA within 15 days from the date of your discharge
  • On approval, the amount will be reimbursed to your bank account

List of Documents Needed for Reimbursement

The insurance company will require the following documents to process your claim request.

  • A duly filled claim form (Part A & Part B)
  • Attending medical practitioner’s prescriptions
  • Surgeon’s original certificate showing the diagnosis and nature of operation performed besides bills/receipts etc.
  • Original cash-memo from the hospital (s)/chemist (s) supported by proper prescription
  • Original bills, payment receipts, medical history of the patient recorded, discharge certificate/ summary from the hospital, etc.
  • Attending medical practitioner’s certificate regarding diagnosis and bill receipts etc.
  • Original payment receipt, investigation test reports, etc.
