Cashless Claim Process at HDFC ERGO Network Hospitals in Mumbai

‘How to get a cashless claim at HDFC ERGO Network Hospitals in Mumbai?’ — Policyholders ask this question before choosing a health insurance plan from HDFC ERGO. To understand the cashless claim process, you can check the following steps.

Step 1: Get yourself admitted to the nearest or suitable HDFC ERGO Network hospital in Mumbai.

Step 2: After hospitalization, you will need to submit your HDFC ERGO health card and a valid photo ID to initiate your cashless hospitalization process. You can submit any of the following documents as a valid photo ID.

  1. Voter ID Card
  2. PAN Card
  3. Driving Licence
  4. Passport
  5. Aadhar Card

Step 3: Once the network hospital completes the identification process, it will send the pre-authorization form to HDFC ERGO to speed up your cashless claim process.

Step 4: HDFC ERGO or TPA will review the pre-authorization form before approving your claim. At each stage of the cashless claim process, updates will be sent to the policyholder on their registered number or email ID.

Step 5: According to your health insurance plan’s terms and conditions, HDFC ERGO will directly settle the claim with the network hospital. Do remember that the company will not pay for any inadmissible expenses.

If the cashless claim gets rejected at HDFC ERGO Network Hospitals in Mumbai, a reimbursement claim option is available for you. You can only file this claim after getting discharged from the hospital. Pay upfront for the received treatment and submit the following documents to HDFC ERGO to get your reimbursement claim.

  1. Duly-filled claim form along with policy number
  2. Medical certificate
  3. Past treatment documents (if any)
  4. Original Discharge summary or card from the hospital
  5. All bills and receipts incurred towards the treatment
  6. Investigation reports such as X-ray, Blood reports, etc.
  7. First Information Report (FIR) or Medico-Legal Certificate (In case of an accidental injury)
  8. NEFT details for payments

HDFC ERGO will review these documents and approve the claim only after successful verification. Post-approval, the reimbursement amount will be transferred to your bank account within 7 days of the last document received.
