How to Apply for a Cashless Claim?

You can receive a cashless medical treatment facility at Edelweiss General Insurance Network Hospitals in Hyderabad by following the steps shown below –

  1. Visit any of the above-mentioned network hospitals in Hyderabad
  2. Show your health card at the hospital reception
  3. Submit the duly filled and signed pre-authorization form to the hospital

Later, the network hospital will send the pre-authorization form to the insurer for approval. Once your claim request is approved by the insurer, you can avail of a cashless facility at the network hospital.

Things to Know Before Filing a Cashless Claim

  1. You must notify the insurer 72 hours before any medical treatment to get the pre-authorization of a cashless facility for planned treatment. Once the request for pre-authorization is approved, the treatment can be taken within 10 days from the pre-authorization date.
  2. In case of emergency hospitalization, notify the insurer within 48 hours of admission/ discharge from the hospital, whichever is earlier.
  3. You need to submit any one identification proof from a Voter ID card, Driving License, Passport, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, etc,.along with your health card at the network hospital.
  4. The authorization or rejection of the cashless claim request will be confirmed by the insurer in writing

Apply for a Reimbursement Claim

In case your cashless claim is rejected by the insurer, file a reimbursement claim within 48 hours of admission/discharge from the hospital, whichever is earlier. You can file a reimbursement claim by submitting the following documents to the insurer –

  1. Duly filled and signed Claim Form
  2. Photocopy of health ID card or policy document
  3. Original detailed discharge summary from the hospital
  4. Original consolidated hospital bill with break up of each item
  5. Original payment receipt of the hospital bill with the receipt number
  6. First Consultation letter and subsequent prescriptions
  7. Original bills, payment receipts and reports for investigation
  8. Surgeons certificate stating the nature of operation performed, and surgeons bills and receipts, if applicable
  9. Attending doctors, consultants, specialist’s, anesthetist bill and receipt and certificate regarding the treatment
  10. Original medicine bills and receipts with prescriptions
  11. Original invoice/bills for implants with original payment receipts
  12. Copy of the First Information Report (FIR) or Medico-Legal Certificate (MLC), if applicable
