LIC e-Services

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) is one of the most popular insurers among customers owing to many attractive features including its e-services. The best part is that customers can get LIC e-services free of cost. So, you don’t need to visit the LIC branch for checking stuff like policy schedule status, premium paid certificate, premium payment, claim status, loan status, claims history, grievance redressal, etc. You can check them online from anywhere.

On this page, we will talk about various facilities under LIC e-Services and the process to register for the same. Let’s start without any further delay.

How to Register for LIC e-Services?

To enjoy LIC e-Services, you must register on the LIC Portal. To do the same, you will need to keep the following things ready.

  1. Policy numbers of your own life & the life of your minor children
  2. Installment premiums under your life insurance policies (without service tax/GST)
  3. Scanned image of your PAN Card or Passport (File size should be less than 100 KB)
  4. The scanned image should be in .jpg or .jpeg format. However, images with other formats can also be uploaded – .bmp, .png, gif, .tiff

Now, you will need to follow the steps mentioned below to register on LIC Portal. Have a look.

  1. Visit the official website of LIC India. Here, you will see the option of ‘Customer Portal’.
  2. Click on this option to go to a page where you will see two options – New User and Registered User. Since you haven’t registered yet, click on the New User option.
  3. Once you click on the New User option, you will be redirected to a new page where you will need to submit a few details – policy number, installment premium (without tax), date of birth, mobile number, email ID, passport number, PAN and gender.
  4. After submitting these details, you will need to create a username and password (as per the terms and conditions of the LIC) to proceed further.
  5. LIC will send an acknowledgment mail and SMS on your registered email ID and number. Once you confirm it, you can log in to the LIC e-Services with your username and password.
  6. Once you are logged in, click on the option of ‘Basic Services’ to add your life insurance policy.

LIC e-Services Facilities that You Can Enjoy

Once you are done with the registration process on the LIC Customer Portal, you can enjoy various LIC e-Services such as premium payment, claim status, loan status, policy status, etc.

We are discussing different facilities offered under LIC e-Services below.

LIC Premium Payment

To make the premium payment with the LIC e-Services facility, you will need to follow the steps mentioned below.

  1. Login to your account with your username and password.
  2. Once you logged in, select the ‘Self/Policies’ option to view your policy details.
  3. Choose the option of Renew LIC Policy/Due Date. Once you select this option, you will need to choose the ‘Pay Premium’ option.
  4. Once you select the option, you will be redirected to a page where you can pay the LIC premium via different payment options such as net banking, BHIM, UPI, credit (Visa, Master and AMEX), or debit card (Visa, Master and Rupay).
  5. Upon successful transaction, you will get a digitally signed e-receipt on your registered email ID.

Policy Schedule and Status

You can check the policy schedule which will be displayed on the first page of your policy bond. Other than this, you can also know about the policy status having information like your plan term, date of commencement, sum assured, first unpaid premium, due premium date, etc.

Bonus Status

If you want to get information about the overall bonus accumulated under the policy, you can use the LIC e-Services. You will get this bonus at the time of final payment under the policy.

Loan Status

If you have taken a loan against your policy, you can check its status via LIC e-Services. With this facility, you can know the current position of your loan such as the extent of the due amount up to which the loan interest is paid, outstanding loan amount, etc.

Claim Status

On this portal, you can also check your claim status such as the date of maturity benefit or survival benefit offered by the LIC policy during the policy term.

Premium Due Calendar

It is necessary to pay your premium on time. To ensure this, you can log in to your account and check the information regarding your due premium over the policy year in a monthly format.

Revival Quotation

If you don’t pay your premium within a grace period, your policy gets lapsed. However, you can revive the same within 5 years from the date of the first unpaid premium along with the penalty. With the help of LIC e-Services, you can get a revival quotation for your lapsed policy.

Premium Paid Certificate

You can download the premium paid certificate for both individual and consolidated policy. The individual policy provides a history of premiums paid under a single life policy during the policy year and is available for 3 financial years including the current one.

On choosing the consolidated option, you can get the history of premiums paid under all the registered own life policies of the user (excluding spouse and children policies) during the financial year.

Claim History

You can also check details of any claim paid under the policy – NEFT or Cheque details, date of payment and payment amount.

Policy Bond and Proposal Image

You can also see a scanned image of your policy bond as well as the proposal form for all the enrolled life insurance policies.

Grievance Registration

You can register a complaint or grievance with the LIC using the e-Services facility if you face any problem regarding your policy.
