Saral Suraksha Bima is a standard personal accident insurance policy that all insurers offer to customers. Mandated by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), this universal plan provides financial protection to individuals if they die or face disability due to an accident. The policy also provides education grants to dependent children.

We have discussed the base and optional covers of Saral Suraksha Bima in detail below.
Saral Suraksha Bima provides the following base covers to all the insured persons under the policy.
If a policyholder dies during the policy period due to bodily injuries sustained in an accident, the policy will pay a death benefit equal to 100% of the sum insured. The death should happen within 12 months from the date of the accident
Note: If the insurer has made claim payment due to the disappearance of the insured person after an accident and it is found that the insured person has survived, the policyholder will need to refund the claim amount.
If an insured person suffers permanent total disability due to an accident (during the policy term), the insurer will pay up to 100% of the sum insured. Also, the permanent total disablement should occur within 12 months from the date of the accident. Have a look at the different types of permanent total disablement mentioned below.
If an insured person faces an accident during the policy period and that causes a permanent partial disablement, Saral Suraksha Bima will provide a fixed percentage of the sum insured as per the below table.

Saral Suraksha Bima also offers the following optional covers that policyholders can choose by paying an additional premium.
If an individual faces temporary total disability due to an accident, the policy will pay 0.2% of the base sum insured per week for up to 100 weeks. This benefit amount will be over and above your actual sum insured.
The policy will also cover the following hospitalization expenses incurred due to an accident, up to 10% of the base sum insured.
Besides, policyholders will also get coverage against the expenses incurred on day care treatments, plastic surgery and dental treatments.
The policy will also cover the road ambulance charges up to INR 2,000 per hospitalization.
The plan will offer an education grant of 10% of the basic sum insured per child to all dependent children if an insured person dies or faces permanent total disability. To get this benefit, children should not be more than 25 years and pursuing an education course as a full-time student in an educational institution.
