Chola Janata Personal Accident Insurance Policy provides financial protection to your family in case of your death due to an accident. This insurance plan is available to persons aged between 3 months and 70 years. You can buy the policy for self, spouse and dependent children on an individual sum insured basis. You’ll get the following benefits under the policy, such as:
Accidental Death: If you sustain any accidental bodily injury anywhere in the world during the policy period and it results in your death within 12 months of its occurrence, the insurer shall pay a sum insured as mentioned in the policy certificate.
Transportation of Mortal Remains: The insurer pays up to 3% of the Sum Insured or INR 6,000 (whichever is lower) for transporting the mortal remains of the insured.
Post-Cremation Ceremony Expenses: The company will also pay the actual costs or INR 5,000 (whichever is lower) for only one post-cremation ceremony.
Ambulance Cover: The insurer shall cover up to INR 1,000 for ambulance services following the accident.
By paying an additional premium, you can enhance your coverage by adding any of the following optional covers.
Permanent Total Disablement: In case the accidental injury results in permanent total disablement within 12 months of its occurrence, the company will pay a percentage of the sum insured as shown below:
Note: The company’s maximum liability under this benefit is 100% of the Sum Insured.
Permanent Partial Disablement: If the accidental injury causes permanent partial disability within 12 months of its occurrence, the company will pay a percentage of the sum insured as shown below.
Note: Any other permanent partial disablement percentage shall be assessed by the panel doctor of the company. The company’s maximum liability shall not exceed 100% of the Sum Insured.
If the accidental injury makes the insured file a subsequent claim under death or permanent total disablement, benefits payable under this section shall not apply and the amounts payable under the coverage of Death or Permanent Total Disablement shall reduce by the amount of any payment made under this section.
The company will reimburse the cost of treatment and hospital facilities in India, provided you are admitted as an in-patient for medical treatment of the accidental injury.
If a claim is made under Accidental Death or Permanent Total Disablement, the company will pay an education benefit of 10% of the Base Sum Insured or INR 50,000, whichever is lower.
Conditions Applicable to Education Benefit
The company shall cover the following external aids and appliances in case of a valid claim under total or partial permanent disability:
The insurer shall cover claims arising due to terrorism. This will include any act of terrorism such as the use of force or violence, the threat of any person whether acting alone or on behalf of or in connection with any organization(s) or government(s), committed for political, religious, ideological or similar purposes, intention to influence any government by putting the public or any section of the public in fear excluding war and warlike operations due to terrorism.
