List of Critical Illnesses Covered Under TATA AIG Wellsurance Family Insurance Plan

The insurer shall cover the following critical illnesses –

  1. Cancer
  2. First Heart Attack
  3. Stroke
  4. Kidney Failure
  5. Coma
  6. Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
  7. Major Organ Transplant
  8. Total Blindness
  9. Paralysis
  10. Multiple Sclerosis
  11. Major Burns

TATA AIG Wellsurance Family Insurance Plan Eligibility Criteria

You need to meet the following age criteria to purchase the TATA AIG Wellsurance Family Insurance Plan –

  1. Minimum Age at Entry – 18 years
  2. Maximum Age at Entry – 65 years
  3. Minimum Eligible Age for Children – 6 months
  4. Maximum Eligible Age for Children – 18 or 23 years in case  of higher studies

Exclusions from TATA AIG Wellsurance Family Insurance Plan

The insurer shall not pay against any of the following incidents:

  1. Any pre-existing condition or any complication arising from it
  2. Intentional self-inflicted injury or illness
  3. Sexually transmitted conditions
  4. Mental or nervous disorder
  5. Anxiety, stress or depression
  6. Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection
  7. Suicide
  8. Illness/injury directly or indirectly related to war, civil war, invasion, insurrection, revolution, an act of a foreign enemy, hostilities, rebellion, mutiny, use of military power or usurpation of government or military power
  9. If the insured is serving in any branch of the military or armed forces of any country
  10. Illness/injury directly or indirectly related to ionizing radiation or contamination by radioactivity from any nuclear fuel or nuclear waste, radioactive, toxic, explosive or other dangerous properties of any explosive nuclear equipment or any part of the equipment
  11. Congenital anomalies or any complications or conditions arising from it
  12. Participation in any professional sports and hazardous activities
  13. Cosmetic or plastic surgery or any elective surgery or cosmetic procedure
  14. Circumcision unless it is a result of an injury caused by an accident
  15. Surgical and non-surgical treatment of obesity including morbid obesity and weight control programs or treatment of an optional nature
  16. Routine health check-ups
  17. Convalescence, custodial care, general debility, lethargy, rest cure
  18. Vitamins, tonics and any other health supplement
  19. Vaccination or inoculation of any kind
  20. Any investigation or treatment not related to the covered illness or injury
  21. Any surgery done on the organ, provided they are not infected or affected
  22. Services, supplies, or treatment, which are not recommended, approved, and certified as medically necessary
  23. Expenses incurred for hospitalization or surgery for a donation of organs
  24. Pregnancy-related conditions including diagnosis or treatment of infertility, inability to conceive a child, birth control, surgical procedures and devices except for ectopic pregnancy
  25. Alcohol or drug abuse
  26. Any surgery for a donation of organs
  27. Treatment of Spondylosis/Spondylitis
  28. Cost of spectacles and contact lenses, hearing aids, walkers, crutches, wheelchairs and such other aids
  29. Any Ayurvedic, Homeopathy or naturopathy treatments.

Terms & Conditions

  1. Critical illness benefit is payable after a survival period of 30 days from the date of diagnosis
  2. A waiting period of 90 days from the date of policy inception applies to hospitalization. However, there’ no waiting period for accident-related hospitalization
  3. Critical illness benefit is available for self and spouse only
  4. Coverage for children is available up to 50% of the sum insured as mentioned in the policy schedule
  5. Hospital cash is available up to 90 days after a 1-day deductible
  6. The hospital cash benefit is not applicable for hospitalization due to any accidents
  7. The benefit for each critical illness will be paid once during the entire lifetime
  8. Upon renewal, critical illness benefit is available for all illnesses except for the one that has been claimed in the previous year
  9. The policy covers hospitalization in India only
  10. Ambulance benefit is payable in a lump sum during hospitalization
  11. Children’s education benefit is payable in case of accidental death or permanent total disability
