The company also gives facilities for auto recharge at no added charges. Newborn children are covered from the 16th day of their birth, which means that even the new additions to the family are covered without seeking an additional plan promising health insurance for kids. Daycare procedures are covered under health insurance policies sold by this company.

Star Senior Citizens Red Carpet Health Insurance Plan

Senior citizens, aged 60-75 years, often find it difficult to procure a health insurance plan owing to many health insurance companies in India not willing to take the risk of bearing the costs of their hospitalization and subsequent treatment. However, this plan by Star Health Insurance ensures that senior citizens have access to the health cover necessary for their old days. The Star Senior Citizens Red Carpet Health Insurance Policy secures against expenses on treatment of pre-existing disorders from the second year of the policy inception and does not mandate its customers to go through any pre-insurance medical test. Moreover, customers opting to buy the plan are entitled to 5 percent discounts while buying the policy.

Hospitalization expenses are covered subject to the condition that the patient has been admitted to the hospital for treatment for a minimum of 24 hours. Cashless Claim Steps

Cashless claim means you don’t need to pay for your healthcare expenses. Instead, the insurer will do the same on your behalf. But that is applicable only when your treatment takes place at a network hospital of the insurer. You can check the list of such hospitals on the official website of the insurer or the manual provided by it.

  • In case of a planned hospitalization – Visit the network hospital before the date of admission, show the health ID and fill the pre-authorization form. The network hospital will send the form to the insurer for approval.
  • In case of an emergency hospitalization – Intimate Star Health within 24 hours of hospitalization by telling the health ID and policy number to the customer care representative of the company. You can even visit the nearest Star Health office or email it at
  • At the time of discharge, the network hospital will send the treatment documents, medical bills and other stuff to the insurer, which will then evaluate the claim and approve it according to the terms and conditions laid down in the agreement. Bear in mind that Star Health won’t honour any non-payable items.

Reimbursement Claim Steps

In case the network hospital is far from your residence or office, you can get yourself admitted to a non-network hospital, pay for the expenses upfront and submit the required documents post the discharge from the hospital. The insurance company will evaluate the documents and reimburse the amount to your bank account at a later date. Below are the documents you need to submit for reimbursement claims.

  • Duly filled claim form
  • Original bills, receipts, discharge certificate from the hospital
  • Original bills of chemists backed by original prescription
