What is that one important factor that you should not forget before choosing a health insurance plan? Well, it is the sum assured amount or coverage amount. In the case of the Star Health Comprehensive plan, individuals can choose from various sum insured options such as INR 5 lakh, INR 7.5 lakh, INR 10 lakh, INR 15 lakh, INR 20 lakh, INR 25 lakh, INR 50 lakh, INR 75 lakh, and up to INR 1 crore.
However, when we talk about the Care Joy Tomorrow Plan, you can choose from INR 3 lakh and INR 5 lakh.
In the case of any health insurance plan, the policy term denotes the period for which you will get the cover. You can choose from a policy term of 1 year, 2 years or 3 years when you choose a Star Health Comprehensive plan. However, on choosing a policy term of more than 1 year, you will not get carry-over benefits.
With the Care Joy Tomorrow plan, individuals can also get a policy term up to a maximum of 3 years.
The waiting period on maternity cover stands at 24 months from the inception of these two policies. This means you can enjoy all the benefits related to maternity only after you have completed 24 months or more in these policies.
Do remember that the premium amount depends on several factors such as the policy term, premium payment frequency, the sum assured amount, and the age at the time of entry. For Star Health Comprehensive plan, the minimum premium amount stands at INR 7,015 per year for an individual between 3 months to 35 years with a sum assured of INR 5,00,000.
It’s important to understand some conditions related to both these plans. In the case of the Star Health Comprehensive plan, an individual can be between 18 years and 65 years at the time of entering into the policy, while the entry age for the Care Joy Tomorrow plan ranges between 18 years and 45 years.
