Reliance HealthWise Plan protects you and your family against medical expenses. Persons aged between 18 and 65 years can apply for this policy. Under this policy, you can cover your legally wedded spouse and dependent children between the age of 91 days to 25 years. You’ll get coverage against the following medical expenses under this policy:
Hospitalization Expenses: In case you suffer from a disease/illness/injury during the policy period and are admitted as an in-patient, the insurer shall cover the following medical expenses:
The insurer shall cover the expenses only if you are hospitalized for a minimum of 24 hours.
Domiciliary Hospitalization: The insurer also covers expenses incurred in case of domiciliary hospitalization, provided the treatment is for more than three days. The coverage under domiciliary hospitalization is limited to 10% of the sum insured.
Daycare treatment: Medical expenses incurred in case of daycare treatment such as dialysis, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, eye surgery, lithotripsy (kidney stone removal), tonsillectomy and any other procedure that requires less than 24 hours of hospitalization shall be covered under this policy.
Pre-Hospitalization: Any medical expenses incurred during a period up to the number of days as specified in the policy schedule before the date of hospitalization shall be covered under this policy. Check out the table below and know the pre-hospitalization coverage period as per your chosen plan.

Post-Hospitalization: Medical expenses incurred during a period up to the number of days as specified in the policy schedule after discharge from the Hospital/Nursing Home shall be covered under this policy. Pre-Existing Disease: You’ll get coverage for pre-existing diseases under this policy, provided it is renewed continuously without any break. Check out the table below to see when the pre-existing diseases shall be covered under Reliance HealthWise Plan as per your chosen variant.

Critical Illness: The policy also covers the following critical illnesses as specified in the policy schedule upon choosing the Gold Plan variant.
An additional Sum Insured as mentioned in the policy schedule shall be payable for the treatment of the diagnosed critical illness. Once a claim is accepted and paid under this section, the coverage under this section will not be available for that particular insured person on future renewals.
Donor Expenses: If you have opted for a Silver or Gold plan, this benefit covers the expenses towards the donor in case of a major organ transplant.
Cost of health check-up: The insurer will reimburse the cost of medical check-ups up to 1% of the average sum insured (Individual Policies) and up to 1.25% (Floater Policies). This benefit is provided to you once at the end of a block of four consecutive years, provided you haven’t filed any claim during this block.
Other than the above-mentioned coverages, the policy also provides you value-added services. Benefits under each value-added cover are available separately to each insured person per hospitalization. You can get a value-added cover by submitting a valid claim under the base cover.
Daily Hospitalization Allowance: This benefit provides a daily hospital allowance in case the hospitalization exceeds 3 days. You can avail of this benefit only if you opt for the Gold plan variant. You’ll receive INR 250 per day for up to 7 days in case of hospitalization. Whereas, in case of hospitalization due to critical illness, you’ll receive INR 250 per day for up to 14 days.
Nursing Allowance: Under this value-added service, the insurer covers an allowance for the services of a nurse at the insured person’s residence or the Hospital, provided the attending medical practitioner has advised it as medically necessary. This benefit is available to you under the Silver and Gold plan variant. You’ll receive INR 250 per day nursing allowance for up to 5 days under the Silver plan. Whereas, in the Gold plan you’ll receive INR 300 per day for up to 5 days. In case of critical illness, the nursing allowance is payable up to 10 days under the gold plan.
Ambulance Charges: The insurer covers the transportation expenses by ambulance to the Hospital/Nursing Home for the treatment of the disease/illness/injury. For the Standard plan variant, the ambulance cover is up to INR 500 per hospitalization. In the Silver plan variant, the ambulance cover is INR 750 per hospitalization. Whereas, in the case of the Gold plan variant, the ambulance cover is INR 1,000 per hospitalization.
Recovery Benefit: You’ll receive a lump sum amount of INR 10,000 in case of hospitalization for a disease/illness/injury for 10 days or more. This benefit is applicable in Silver and Gold plan variants.
Expenses on Accompanying Person: The insurer covers the expenses incurred by the accompanying person at the Hospital/Nursing Home during treatment of the insured person up to the limits as specified in this policy. For the Standard plan variant, the insurer pays INR 250 per day for up to 5 days. In the Silver plan variant, the insurer pays INR 250 per day for up to 5 days. Whereas, in the case of the Gold plan variant, the insurer pays INR 300 per day for up to 5 days.
