Under National Parivar Mediclaim Policy, policyholders can choose the sum insured according to their affordability. The options range from INR 1 to 10 lakh.
With the National Parivar Mediclaim Policy, policyholders will get the coverage against following medical expenses.
This policy also provides coverage against expenses incurred 30 days before and 60 days after the hospitalization, respectively, up to the sum insured. However, such expenses should be incurred for the same condition for which the hospitalization is needed.
The policy will reimburse the medical expenses under domiciliary hospitalization (including pre and post-hospitalization expenses) up to 10% of the sum insured or INR 50,000. However, it will not cover treatment of less than three days, expenses on alternative treatment, for maternity, etc.
If a policyholder is undergoing medical treatments that do not require minimum 24-hour hospitalization, the policy will pay the expenses incurred on such treatments up to the sum insured limit.
If a policyholder needs to undergo an organ transplant, National Parivar Mediclaim Policy will cover the expenses of hospitalization of the organ donor up to the sum insured during the policy period. Also, the insured person should have been medically advised to undergo an organ transplant.
If the hospitalization of the insured person exceeds 3 days and a claim has been admitted, he/she will get a daily cash allowance of up to INR 300 for up to 5 days of continuous hospitalization.
This policy also provides up to INR 1,000 per illness towards ambulance charges if an insured person needs to get transported to the nearby hospital. The maximum coverage will be INR 2,500 per policy year.
Policyholders will also get coverage against the expenses incurred for anti-rabies vaccination up to INR 5,000 for each insured person in a policy year.
After a waiting period of three years, you can also get coverage against maternity-related expenses (including baby from birth cover) up to 10% of the sum insured or INR 30,000 (in case of normal delivery) and INR 50,000 (in case of cesarean section).

Any individual between 18 and 65 years can purchase the Parivar Mediclaim policy. Under the family floater option, at least two family members – Self, Spouse, Dependent legitimate or legally adopted children, and Parents can get coverage.
Insured persons will not get any coverage against the expenses incurred in the following situations.
