In case the policyholder or any of the insured lives under the policy needs hospitalization due to accidental bodily injury or sickness for a period of continuous 24 hours, LIC Jeevan Arogya Plan provides a minimum hospital cash benefit of INR 1,000 per day up to 30 days in a year. Do remember the initial daily benefit will be in multiples of INR 1,000.
Policyholders can also enjoy the major surgical benefit in case the insured person needs to undergo surgery. This benefit will be a minimum of 100 times the applicable daily benefit of the principal insured person. The maximum annual benefit can go up to 100% of the major surgical benefit sum assured, while the maximum lifetime benefit can go up to 800% of the major surgical benefit sum assured.
Your policy from LIC will also cover some major daycare procedures (treatments that require less than 24 hours of hospitalization). This benefit will be 5 times the applicable daily benefit for a maximum of 3 surgical procedures in a year, while the maximum lifetime benefit can go to 24 surgical procedures.
In case you need to undergo a surgery not listed under major surgical benefit or daycare procedure benefit within the cover period, you will get a daily benefit equal to 2 times the applicable daily benefit as the other surgical benefit. This benefit will be given for 15 days in the first policy year and 45 days per year thereafter.
With this benefit, policyholders will also receive a lump sum benefit of INR 1,000 towards ambulance expenses in case they need emergency transportation for treatment.
In case the insured person needs a major surgical benefit in a policy year, the annual premium for the policy from the date of installment premium due coinciding with or the next from the date of surgery will be waived off.
With this plan from LIC, you can also choose two rider options to enhance your overall protection. These two options are LIC New Term Assurance Rider and LIC Accidental Benefit Rider. An individual can choose the accidental benefit rider by paying the additional premium amount of INR 0.50 for every INR 1,000 of the accidental benefit sum assured per policy year.
With the LIC Jeevan Arogya Plan, individuals can choose the amount of initial daily benefit as per their needs. The major surgical benefit will also depend on the initial daily benefit. To know more, you can check the below table.
