IFFCO TOKIO Health Protector Plus Plan covers the hospitalization expenses for any injury or disease during the policy term. This policy acts as an additional cover over and above the deductible amount. So, you can opt for a compulsory deductible amount, which you bear through existing health coverage or your own/other sources. You can purchase this policy without any basic health policy. IFFCO TOKIO Health Protector Plus Plan Coverage

The insurer shall cover the following medical expenses under this plan:

  1. Room rent including boarding and nursing expenses
  2. Surgeon, Anesthetist, Medical Practitioner, Consultants, Specialist Fees including consultation through telemedicine (as per prevailing Telemedicine Practice Guideline)
  3. Cost of Anesthesia, Blood, Oxygen, Operation Theatre, Surgical Appliances, Medicines and Drugs, Diagnostic Materials and diagnostic imaging modalities, Chemotherapy, radiotherapy, Pacemaker, Artificial Limbs, transplantation of organs and similar expenses.
  4. AYUSH treatment
  5. Ambulance Charges – Actual or up to INR 3,000 per claim, whichever is less.
  6. Daily Cash Allowance equaling 0.10% of the Sum Insured shall be payable for the duration of hospitalization
  7. Domiciliary Hospitalization shall be covered up to 20% of the Sum Insured
  8. Pre-hospitalization and post hospitalization expenses are covered up to 60 and 90 days, respectively

Note: Hospitalization expenses for organ donors, in case of organ transplant, shall be restricted to the sum insured. No payment will be made towards pre and post-hospitalization expenses for organ donors.

Apart from the above-mentioned coverage, the insurer shall also cover the following:

Modern Treatments

The following procedures shall be covered either as an in-patient, part of Domiciliary Hospitalization or day care treatment, subject to 50% of the Sum Insured.

  1. Uterine Artery Embolization and HIFU (High intensity focused ultrasound)
  2. Balloon Sinuplasty
  3. Deep Brain stimulation
  4. Oral chemotherapy
  5. Immunotherapy- Monoclonal Antibody to be given as an injection
  6. Intra vitreal injections
  7. Robotic surgeries
  8. Stereotactic radio surgeries
  9. Bronchial Thermoplasty
  10. The vaporization of the prostate (Green laser treatment or holmium laser treatment)
  11. IONM – (Intra Operative Neuro Monitoring)
  12. Stem cell therapy: Hematopoietic stem cells for bone marrow transplant for hematological conditions.

Day Care Treatment

If the duration of hospitalization is less than 24 hours, such medical expenses are covered under day care treatment.

Emergency Assistance Services

Under this policy, you’ll get the following emergency medical assistance:

  1. Medical consultation, evaluation and referral
  2. Emergency medical evacuation
  3. Medical repatriation
  4. Transportation to join patient
  5. Care and/or transportation of minor children
  6. Emergency message transmission
  7. Return of mortal remains
  8. Emergency cash coordination

The services are provided to the insured only if he/she is traveling within India at least 150 kilometers or more away from their residential address as mentioned in the policy schedule. This benefit is applicable if you are traveling for less than 90 days. No claims for reimbursement shall be provided under this section unless it is agreed by the insurer or its authorized representative.

Emergency assistance service will not be provided to you in the following instances:

  1. Traveling specifically for a medical treatment
  2. Traveling outside India
  3. Injuries resulting from participation in acts of war or insurrection
  4. Breach of law with criminal intent
  5. Attempted suicide or self-inflicted injuries
  6. Abuse of drugs
  7. Transfer of the insured person from one medical facility to another of similar capabilities providing a similar level of care

The insurer shall not evacuate or repatriate an insured person in the following instances:

  1. Without medical authorization
  2. With mild lesions, simple injuries like sprains, simple fractures or mild sickness
  3. With a pregnancy term of over six months
  4. With mental or nervous disorders unless hospitalized

Optional Cover Waiver of Deductible

You can enhance your policy coverage by adding this optional cover. The deductible amount shall be waived in case of loss or change of employment. This rider is subject to the following conditions:

  1. The cover is applicable to the salaried class below the age of 55 years and their dependents. So, the cover is not available for the self-employed.
  2. The maximum period of Waiver of Deductible (WOD) is mentioned on your policy schedule
  3. In case of multiple job changes during the same policy period, the aggregate number of days of coverage during all such breaks shall be subject to the maximum WOD period
  4. Letter of intent for utilization of WOD period must be sent to the insurer at least 15 days before the date of getting relieved from the existing job.
  5. The waiver shall be effective from the next day to the date of getting relieved from the existing job.

This rider will cease upon the occurrence of any of the following events.

  1. Expiry of Waiver of Deductible period
  2. Request for termination of cover for WOD

Note: The 15-day notice period for a Letter of intent shall be waived on merits by the underwriting authority on case to case basis, provided the notice is given on or before the date of relieving. In case the notice is given after the date of relieving within a reasonable time, WOD may be granted from the date of the notice.

Eligibility for IFFCO TOKIO Health Protector Plus Plan

You need to meet the following age criteria if you want to buy IFFCO TOKIO Health Protector Plus Plan:

Minimum Age at Entry – 18 years

Maximum Age at Entry – 65 years

Dependent Children Age – Above 3 months

You can purchase this policy on an individual or family floater basis. If you purchase this plan on a floater basis, coverage shall be provided to self, spouse and dependent children. Whereas, if you purchase this plan on an individual basis, the coverage will include self, spouse, dependent children and parents

Free Look Period

A 15-day free Look period shall be applicable at the inception of this policy from the date of receipt to review the terms and conditions. During this period, you can return the policy if you disagree with any of the terms and conditions. On such cancellation, you’ll be entitled to the following:

  1. On not claiming during the free look period, you will get a refund of the paid premium paid less medical examination expenses and stamp duty charges
  2. If the risk has already commenced, a deduction towards the proportionate risk premium for the period of cover shall be provided
  3. If only a part of the insurance coverage has commenced, such proportionate premium commensurates with the insurance coverage
