Flexible Sum Insured Options

This plan from IFFCO Tokio offers policyholders eight sum insured and deductible options from which they can choose. To know more, check the below table.

Note: Deductible means the amount that the policyholder needs to pay from his or her pocket during the claim settlement, while the insurer will pay the remaining claim amount.

Choose Between Top Up and Super Top Up

Under this plan, policyholders can also choose between Top-up and Super Top-up options. With this, they can get a choice of deductible per claim or an aggregate of all claims in a policy year.

Waiver of Deductible Option

If a policyholder changes job or faces an employment loss, he or she can enjoy the overall sum insured without any deductible for 30, 60 or 90 days (as per their choice). To enjoy this facility, you will need to make a small additional premium payment.

Option to Buy Standard Health Insurance Policy with Continuity of Benefits

IFFCO Tokio also offers you the option to purchase a standard health insurance policy without deductible with continuity of coverage in terms of waiver of waiting periods up to deductible (chosen by you) under the policy. However, to get these benefits, you need to purchase the Top-up or Super Top-up policy for the first time before 50 years of age and renew the same for at least 4 years without any break.

What is Covered Under the Policy?

With the IFFCO Tokio Health Protector Plan, you will get coverage for the following expenses or treatments.

  1. Hospital Room Rent including boarding and nursing charges
  2. Fees of Medical Practitioner, Anesthetist and Consultant
  3. Different Expenses incurred during hospitalization on Anesthesia, Blood, Operation Theatre, Oxygen, Surgical Appliances, Medicines, Diagnostic Materials and X-ray, Dialysis, Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy, Cost of Pacemaker, Artificial Limbs, Cost of transplantation of Organs and similar expenses
  4. Pre and Post-hospitalization expenses cover for 60 and 90 days, respectively
  5. AYUSH Hospitalization Cover (Only in AYUSH hospitals or Day Care Centers)
  6. Local Ambulance Charges cover up to INR 3,000 per claim
  7. Additional Daily Allowance Amount up to 0.10% of the sum insured (During Hospitalization)
  8. Domiciliary Treatment Cover up to 20% of the sum insured
  9. Hospitalization expenses of the person donating an organ (during the organ transplant surgery) up to 100% of the sum insured
  10. Day Care Treatment Cover (Treatments that do not require a minimum 24-hour hospitalization)

What is Not Covered Under the Plan?

You will not get coverage for the following expenses or treatments.

  1. Hospitalization expenses for an illness during the first 30 days of the policy
  2. Circumcision (Unless required for the treatment of a disease or an accidental bodily injury)
  3. Plastic surgery unless necessary for the treatment of Injury or Disease
  4. Spectacles, contact lenses, hearing aids expenses
  5. Dental Treatment or surgery of any kind (Unless due to an Accident requiring Hospitalization)
  6. Injury or Diseases directly or indirectly as an outcome of nuclear weapons/material
  7. OPD (Outpatient Department) Treatment Expenses
  8. Mental illness treatment and other psychological disorders, sterility, venereal disease
  9. Self-inflicted injury, treatment arising from the use of intoxicating drugs/alcohols, and treatment resulting from any criminal act
  10. Obesity or weight control treatment
  11. Diagnostic, X-Ray, or Laboratory examination cost
  12. Maternity expenses and related conditions
  13. Naturopathy, Experimental/Unproven Treatment, and such other therapies expenses
  14. Any expense related to Disease/Injury suffered while engaging in adventure sports
