New India Premier Mediclaim Policy

The total and irreversible loss of use or loss of two or more limbs due to an injury or disease of the brain or spinal cord will be covered under New India Premier Mediclaim Policy. But the claim should be admissible under the policy if a specialist medical practitioner confirms that the paralysis will be permanent with no hope of recovery. The paralysis must have sustained for more than 3 months before its permanent declaration.

There are two plans under New India Premier Mediclaim Policy pro –

Plan A: offers Sum Insured of INR 15,00,000 and 25,00,000

Plan B: offers Sum Insured of INR 50,00,000 and 100,00,000

IFFCO Tokio Critical Illness Benefit Policy

Permanent Paralysis of Limbs and the key conditions that lead to paralysis shall also be covered under IFFCO Tokio Critical Illness Benefit Policy such as:-

SBI General’s Critical Illness Insurance Policy

You can cover permanent paralysis of limbs plus 12 other critical illnesses under SBI General’s Critical Illness Insurance Policy. The policy sum insured ranges from INR 2-50 Lakh, so choose your sum insured wisely. Your SBI General’s Critical Illness Insurance Policy will cover the cost of the treatment of paralysis for up to 3 years as it remains the maximum policy term. You can renew the policy for as long as you want. To claim this health insurance policy sum insured, you just need to SMS “CLAIM” to 561612.

Tata AIG Critical Illness Policy

This health insurance policy will cover the total and irreversible loss of use of two or more limbs caused due to an injury or disease of the brain or spinal cord. And the insured can also seek a second opinion for the paralysis, provided the policy is in force and the insured is diagnosed with the same.

What Does Treatment of Paralysis Include?

The paralysis treatment will be based on its symptoms and causes. Usually, doctors and medical practitioners recommend physical therapy, surgery, occupational therapy, a device for body movement or possible amputation. There are many cases of paralysis where it is treated successfully with a suitable and appropriate treatment.

The following are some treatments of paralysis: 

Physiotherapy and Exercise – It is believed and proved that physiotherapy along with proper and regular physical exercise can bring positive results for individuals affected with paralyzed legs or hands. Regular exercise leads to many successful recoveries of motor and sensory functions.
