The Star Health Claim process is hassle-free and helps people settle their claims promptly. There are two methods to file a claim with Star Health insurance — Cashless and Reimbursement method. Star Health Insurance Claim Cashless Method

Before knowing the process to file a cashless claim with Star Health Insurance, it is important to understand what exactly is a cashless method. In a cashless claim, the policyholder doesn’t need to bear any expenses as they are directly settled by the insurer or the Third-party Administrator (TPA). Star Health insurance has 9,900 network hospitals across India where you can avail of the cashless treatment in a hassle-free manner.

To file a cashless claim with Star Health Insurance, you will need to follow a few steps mentioned below. Please check!

  1. The first thing you will need to do is to approach the insurance desk at a network hospital where you need to intimate the company about the hospitalization. Dial 1800 425 2255 or 1800 012 4477 to intimate the Star Health Insurance Company about your claims. You can also email the same to the official email address of Star Health.
  2. At the hospital’s reception, you will need to show your Health ID Card for identification purposes.
  3. Submit all the relevant papers to the Hospital. These documents will be the pre-admission investigations paper and doctor’s consultation paper. With these documents, the network hospital will verify your identity and papers and submit the pre-authorization form to Star Health.
  4. Before claim processing, a team of doctors from Star Health will verify all the submitted documents.
  5. Do remember that an assigned doctor may visit the hospital if needed.
  6. After discharge, the hospital will send all the claim documents to Star Health, and the amount will be settled directly to the hospital. So, you will not need to bear any expenses towards your hospitalization. However, you will need to pay for any non-payable items or expenses.

Documents Required for the Cashless Claim with Star Health Insurance

Have a look at the list of documents that the hospital will require to submit the cashless claim with Star Health.

  1. Health ID Card
  2. Doctor’s consultation papers
  3. Discharge summary
  4. Investigation reports (X-ray, Blood report, etc.)
  5. Pharmacy invoices authorized by respective prescriptions
  6. Medico-Legal Certificate (MLC) and/or FIR in case of an accident
  7. Insured person’s KYC documents in case the claim amount is more than INR 1 lakh

Star Health Insurance Claim Reimbursement Method

The second method to file a claim with Star Health insurance is the reimbursement method. With this, a policyholder has to bear all the expenses incurred towards his or her medical treatment first and the company will reimburse the amount later. Also, you can enjoy reimbursement facilities at network as well as non-network hospitals, but you need to intimate Star Health about the claim within 24 hours of hospitalization.

At both network and non-network hospitals, you can get reimbursement of all the expenses within 15 days from the date of discharge.

  1. After admission to a hospital, you should get the required treatment. After paying your bills and getting discharged from the hospital, you will need to collect all the original documents related to your treatment and incurred expenses during the same.
  2. You will need to submit the necessary claim documents to the company within 15 days of getting discharged from the hospital.
  3. To receive the claim form, you will need to provide your policy number. Star Health will settle the claim as per the terms and conditions of your policy. Do remember that you will need to bear the expenses for any non-payable items.

  7. Medico-Legal Certificate (MLC) and/or FIR in case of an accident
