When 100% of the sum insured is exhausted in a policy year, the automatic restoration benefit will refill your sum insured up to 100%. With this feature, you can claim your hospitalization even if your sum insured is exhausted in a policy year. Star Comprehensive:- The automatic restoration of the basic sum insured happens upon 100% exhaustion of the basic sum insured and the accrued cumulative bonus if any. And this benefit can be used only once during the policy period.
Care Freedom Plan:- The automatic recharge of the base sum insured will be available to you if a claim exhausts your coverage limit. You and other insured members can use the recharged base sum insured for future claims unless it is not related to the ailment or injury which has already been claimed under the same policy year.
If the medical treatment for an illness, disease, or injury is taken in a confined home under any circumstances, such expenses shall be covered under domiciliary hospitalization. Now, compare the same benefit under the Star Comprehensive and Care Freedom plan.
Star Comprehensive:- You will get coverage for domiciliary hospitalization medical treatment (including AYUSH) if it is advised by the attending Medical Practitioner due to the following circumstances:-
Note:- The benefit will be given only when the treatment lasts for a minimum of 3 days. This benefit shall not be available for asthma, bronchitis, chronic nephritis and nephrotic syndrome, diarrhea and all types of dysenteries including gastroenteritis, diabetes mellitus and insipidus, epilepsy, hypertension, influenza, cough and cold, all psychiatric or psychosomatic disorders, pyrexia of unknown origin for < 10 days, tonsillitis and upper respiratory tract infection including laryngitis and pharyngitis, arthritis, gout and rheumatism.
Care Freedom Plan:- The diabetes patient will be covered for the domiciliary hospitalization expenses up to 10% of the sum assured. And this benefit shall be available only if the medical treatment exceeds 3 consecutive days.
