Hospital Cash Benefit Under Bharti AXA Life Hospi Cash Rider Plan

If you opt for this rider and get hospitalized due to an illness or injury during the policy tenure, the insurer will provide you the following cash benefits –

Daily Hospital Cash Benefit

A fixed cash benefit is payable for each day of hospitalization, provided it is for a minimum of 48 hours. Bharti AXA Life Hospi Cash Rider Plan daily cash benefit is not linked to the actual expenses incurred during hospitalization. The per-day hospital cash benefit is as follows –

  1. INR 1,000 for Silver Plan
  2. INR 2,000 for Gold Plan
  3. And INR 3,000 for Diamond Plan

The Daily Hospital Cash Benefit is payable up to 40 days in a policy year.

Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Benefit

A cash benefit is payable for each day of hospitalization in ICU, provided the hospitalization is for a minimum of 48 hours. This is a fixed amount and not linked to the actual expenses incurred during hospitalization. The per-day hospital cash benefit for ICU is as follows –

  1. INR 1,000 for Silver Plan
  2. INR 2,000 for Gold Plan
  3. And INR 3,000 for Diamond Plan

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Benefit is payable up to 10 days in a policy year.

Surgical Hospitalization Benefit

If the surgery is performed during hospitalization, and the hospital stay is for a minimum of 48 hours, the insurer will pay a lump sum amount. If you have undergone more than one surgery during a single admission, a lump sum in respect of the surgical procedure attracting the highest benefit shall be paid to you. The lump sum amount may be as per the plan chosen by you –

For surgeries involving – brain, heart, liver & lung, the Surgical Hospitalization Benefit is –

  1. INR 20,000 for Silver Plan
  2. INR 40,000 for Gold Plan
  3. And INR 60,000 for Diamond Plan

For minor surgeries, the Surgical Hospitalization Benefit is –

  1. INR 5,000 for Silver Plan
  2. INR 10,000 for Gold Plan
  3. And INR 15,000 for Diamond Plan

Note – The maximum Surgical Hospitalization Benefit is 90X the Daily Hospital Cash Benefit.

Bharti AXA Life Hospi Cash Rider Plan Eligibility Criteria

You can purchase this rider cover if you meet the following eligibility criteria –

  1. Minimum Entry Age – 91 days (as on the last birthday)
  2. Maximum Entry Age – 65 years (as on the last birthday)
  3. Maximum Maturity Age – 85 years

This rider policy term is 5, 7, 10, 15 and 20 years. You can choose the premium payment frequency for your plan from the following –

  1. Yearly
  2. Half-yearly
  3. Quarterly
  4. Monthly

Bharti AXA Life Hospi Cash Rider Plan premium payment term is regular, and there are no maturity or death benefits payable under this plan.

Bharti AXA Life Hospi Cash Rider Plan Waiting Period

The insurer is not liable to pay if the hospitalization occurs during the first 60 days of the policy commencement date or revival date. However, the waiting period does not apply to hospitalization arising out of accidents.

Bharti AXA puts a specific waiting period of 2 years for the treatment of the following diseases, surgeries or procedures –

  1. Fibroids
  2. Menorrhagia
  3. Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding
  4. Uterine Prolapse
  5. Removal of the uterus, fallopian tubes, or ovaries
  6. Hernia of all types
  7. Hydrocoele, Varicocele, Spermatocele
  8. Benign Enlargement of Prostate
  9. Thyroidectomy for Nodules or MultiNodular Goitre
  10. Calculus, Calculi in Kidney/Ureter/Bladder/Urethra
  11. Deviated Nasal Septum or Sinusitis
  12. Piles
  13. Anal Fissure
  14. Fistula-in-ano
  15. Rectal prolapse
  16. Cholecystitis
  17. Gallstones
  18. Breast Lumps
  19. Heart valve and Coronary Artery diseases.
  20. Arthroscopy (except post-accident)
  21. Disorders of the spine

Exclusions from Bharti AXA Life Hospi Cash Rider Plan

You’ll not get hospital cash benefit if you are hospitalized due to the following –

  1. Hospitalization is not as per the diagnosis and treatment of the condition
  2. Hospitalization or treatment is within the waiting period
  3. Elective surgery or treatment not advised by the attending doctor
  4. Weight reduction or weight improvement treatments
  5. Treatment of sleep apnoea
  6. Any dental care surgery
  7. Treatment for infertility or impotence
  8. Sex change or any treatment related to it
  9. Abortion, sterilization and contraception including any complications arising out of it
  10. Hospitalization for pregnancy and its complications
  11. Hospitalization where no active regular treatment is performed
  12. Experimental or unproven treatments
  13. Devices or pharmacological regimens of any description
  14. Treatment under any system other than allopathy
  15. Treatment of any mental or psychiatric condition like – insanity, mental or nervous breakdown/disorder, depression, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease or rest cures
  16. Admission to a nursing home or home for the care of the age if not related to an acute medical condition
  17. Treatment arising due to alcohol, drug or substance abuse
  18. Treatment due to war, invasion, acts of foreign enemies, hostilities
  19. Sexually transmitted diseases or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS)
  20. Cosmetic or plastic surgery unless necessary for the treatment of a disease or injury
  21. Nuclear disaster, radioactive contamination, nuclear or atomic energy;
  22. Treatment for accidental physical injury or illness caused due to self-inflicted injuries
  23. Treatment arising due to violation or attempted violation of the law
  24. Treatment arising due to participation in sports, racing of any kind, scuba diving, aerial sports, hand-gliding, ballooning, and any other hazardous activities or sports
  25. Hospitalization in case you are donating any organ for transplant
  26. Any hospitalization outside India

Suicide Clause

If you are medically sane or insane and commits suicide within one year of the policy issuance or revival date, the company won’t pay any rider benefit to the nominee/beneficiary.

Important Note – The sum of all benefits payable under Bharti AXA Life Hospi Cash Rider Plan shouldn’t exceed 150X the Daily Hospital Cash Benefit.
