This personal accident insurance plan offers you or your nominee a certain sum of money in case you face any of these problems due to an accident. Coverage of Bharti AXA Accident Care Policy

Accidental Death Benefit

If you sustain an injury due to an accident, and it results in death within 12 months from the date of its occurrence, the company will pay the sum insured as specified in the schedule of insurance to the nominee.

Permanent Total Disability (PTD) Benefit

If you meet with an accident, and it’s directly and independently the cause of the disablement, the company will pay 100% of the sum Insured to the policyholder/insured. You can cover any of the following or all the disablement under Bharti Axa Accident Care Policy –

  1. Two limbs loss or loss of use ( both hands, both feet or one hand and one foot)
  2. Loss of or loss of use of one limb and one eye
  3. Loss of sight (both eyes)
  4. Loss of speech
  5. Loss of hearing (both ears)
  6. Incurable Insanity (due to accidental injury)
  7. Complete removal of the lower jaw
  8. Complete loss of mastication
  9. Complete loss of the central nervous system or the thorax and all abdominal organs
  10. Quadriplegia

Permanent Partial Disability Benefit

During the policy term, if you meet with an accident and it results in Permanent Partial Disablement (PPD), you will get financial support from the insurance company. The following are the list of PPD covered under Bharti Axa Accident Care Policy

  1. Loss of hearing of both ears up to 75% of the sum insured
  2. Loss of arm at the shoulder joint up to 70% of the sum insured
  3. Loss of leg above mid-thigh or above center of femur up to 70% of the sum insured
  4. Loss of arm above the elbow joint up to 65% of the sum insured
  5. Loss of arm beneath the elbow joint up to 60% of the sum insured
  6. Loss of leg up to mid-thigh or below the femur up to 65% of the sum insured
  7. Loss of four fingers and thumb of one hand up to 40% of the sum insured
  8. Loss of four fingers up to 35% of the sum insured
  9. Loss of hand at the wrist up to 55% of the sum insured
  10. Loss of leg beneath the knee up to 50% of the sum insured
  11. Loss of one eye up to 50% of the sum insured
  12. Loss of lens of one eye up to 25% of the sum insured
  13. Loss of leg up to mid-calf or Mid Tibia up to 50% of the sum insured
  14. Loss of foot at the ankle up to 50% of the sum insured
  15. Loss of hearing (one ear) up to 30% of the sum insured
  16. Loss of thumb (both Phalanges) up to 25% of the sum insured
  17. Loss of thumb (one Phalanx) up to 20% of the sum insured
  18. Loss of an index finger (three Phalanges) up to 10% of the sum insured
  19. Loss of an index finger (two Phalanges) up to 10% of the sum insured
  20. Loss of an index finger (one Phalanx) up to 10% of the sum insured
  21. Loss of thumb and index finger of the same hand up to 25% of the sum insured
  22. Loss of sense of smell up to 10% of the sum insured
  23. Loss of sense of taste up to 5% of the sum insured
  24. Loss of any other finger up to 5% of the sum insured
  25. Loss of middle finger (three Phalanges) up to 6%, (two Phalanges) up to 4% (one Phalanges) up to 2% of the sum insured
  26. Loss of ring finger (three Phalanges) up to 5%, (two Phalanges) up to 4%, (one Phalanx) up to 2% of the sum insured
  27. Loss of little finger (three Phalanges) up to 4%, (two Phalanges) up to 3%, (one Phalanx) up to 2% of the sum insured
  28. Loss of toe-up to 20% of the sum insured
  29. Loss of Metacarpus – First and Second up to 3%, Third, Fourth and Fifth up to 2% of the sum insured
  30. Paraplegia (Paralysis) up to 50%, Hemiplegia (Paralysis) up to 50%, Uniplegia (Paralysis) up to 25% of the sum insured

Broken Bones Cover

If any of your bones are broken or dislocated due to an accident, and that requires surgery, the insurer will pay the following expenses at a certain percentage of the sum insured –

  1. Total break of neck, skull or spine – up to 100%
  2. Complete break of hip – up to 75%
  3. Complete break of jaw, pelvis, leg, ankle or knee – up to 50%
  4. Complete break of cheekbone or shoulder – up to 30%
  5. Complete break of nose or collarbone – up to 20%
  6. Complete break of foot/hand bone – up to 5%

Note – An additional compensation of 5%, if non-union of bone is established in any of the above breaks except neck, skull or spine.

Burns Coverage

Bharti AXA will cover third and second-degree burns if they are directly caused due to an accident. This coverage includes –

  1. Third and second-degree burn of head
  2. Third and second-degree burn of other body parts

Note – If the injury results in burns to more than one body part, the company’s liability shall be restricted to the maximum compensation available under the policy.

Comatose Benefit

If an accident results in hospitalization in a comatose state, the insurer will pay a fixed amount of weekly allowance not exceeding the specified number of weeks mentioned in the policy schedule.

Conditions on Comatose Benefit

  1. During the Comatose state, the insured must be admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital
  2. This benefit shall be payable to the insured if Comatose occurs within 3 days of the accident and continues for at least 7 days thereafter.

Disappearance

If the insured person’s body cannot be located within 365 days as a result of god peril or forced landing, stranding, sinking or wrecking of a conveyance due to an accident/traveling, the insurer will pay an amount up to the sum insured to the nominee.

In-patient Medical Expenses

If you sustain an injury due to an accident and it requires treatment, the hospital bills shall be paid by the insurance company. The hospital cover includes –

  1. Room Rent
  2. ICU & Boarding expenses
  3. Medical Practitioner’s fees
  4. Surgeon’s Fees
  5. Nursing Charge
  6.  X-Ray, laboratory & other similar charges
  7. Prescribed drugs and medicines, therapeutics, anesthetics (including administration of anesthetics), blood transfusions

Outpatient Medical Expenses

If you sustain an injury during the policy period due to an accident and that requires treatment in outpatient, the insurer will cover the following medical expenses –

  1. OPD Consultancy Charges
  2. X-Ray, laboratory & charges
  3. Prescribed drugs and medicines and therapeutics

Hospital Cash

If you require hospitalization as an in-patient due to an accident, the company shall pay a daily allowance for each continuous and completed period of 24 hours.

External Aids & Appliances

If you sustain injury due to an accident and the treating medical practitioner has advised you to use a wheelchair/clutches, the company shall reimburse the actual cost of such external aids and appliances.

Temporary Total Disablement – A weekly payout will be made by the insurer to the insured if he/she suffers from temporary total disablement due to an accident.

Home Convalescence – Pay an allowance for a specified period till the insured person completely recovers at home beyond the continuous hospitalization as an in-patient.

Rehabilitation Cover – Covers rehabilitation expenses post-discharge from the hospital, so the insured can resume his/her occupational and daily activities.

Reconstructive Surgery Cover  – Cover for reconstruction surgery, which helps improve the functional ability of body parts.

Medical Evacuation Cover – Immediate evacuation to avoid life risk in a situation like – flood, tsunami, earthquake, volcanic eruption, storm, hurricane, landslide/Mudslide, riots, terrorist attack

Home Tuition Benefit – If the insured person’s dependent children sustain injury due to an accident, the company agrees to pay a fixed daily allowance to take care of the home tuition fees.
