Navi Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy helps insured members protect their finances during an accident. We have talked about its key features below. Please check.

Accidental Death

If an insured member under a group suffers an injury due to an accident (during the policy period) and dies within 365 days from the date of the accident, the policy will pay a definite sum insured to the nominee.

Note: If the insured person’s body has not been found within 365 days from the forced landing, striking, etc., it shall be presumed that he/she has died due to an accident.

Accidental Permanent Total Disability

If an insured person faces an injury due to an accident and that results in permanent total disability within 365 days from the date of the accident, he/she will get up to 150% of the sum insured.

Note: Such disability should continue for 180 days and is total, continuous and permanent at the end of this period.

Accidental Permanent Partial Disability

In case of a permanent partial disablement during the policy period due to an accident, the policy will pay a definite percentage of the sum insured, depending on the extent of losses. To know more, check the below table.

Accidental Temporary Total Disability

If an insured person suffers an accidental injury due to which he or she is not able to engage in employment or occupation, the policy will pay a weekly benefit. You will get it after the completion of the elimination period, which is the number of consecutive days of temporary total disability starting from the next day of accident.

Child Tuition Benefit

As mentioned in the introduction, if an insured person dies or faces permanent total disability due to an accident, the policy will pay a one-time payment to the surviving dependent children of the insured person.

Note:  To get this payment, dependent children should be full-time students in any recognized educational institute when an insured person dies or faces permanent total disability due to an accident.

Orphan Benefit

With this benefit, the policy will pay an amount equal to the higher of the parents’ sum insured to the dependent child whether he or she is covered under the policy or not.

Repatriation of Mortal Remains and Funeral Expenses Cover

This group policy from Navi General Insurance also pays towards the transportation of the insured person’s mortal remains to a nearby hospital, cremation, or burial ground or his/her residence as well as funeral or cremation expenses of the insured person.

Accidental Medical Expenses Cover

The policy will reimburse the following expenses incurred during the treatment taken on an outpatient or in-patient basis.

  1. Room rent, boarding & nursing expenses
  2. Intensive care unit (ICU)
  3. Consultation fees
  4. Anesthesia, blood, oxygen, operation theatre charges, surgical appliances
  5. Medicines, drugs and consumables
  6. Diagnostic procedures
  7. Prosthetics and other devices or equipments
  8. Physiotherapy expenses as recommended by the treating doctor

Daily Hospital Cash (ICU/Non-ICU)

If an insured person is getting treatment in a hospital (as an in-patient) due to accidental injuries, the policy will pay twice the daily cash amount during an ICU hospitalization. The maximum coverage will be up to five days for each claim and 30 days in a policy period.

What is Not Covered Under the Plan?

The policy will not cover policyholders in the following situations.

  1. War, civil war, invasion, insurrection, revolution, act of a foreign enemy, hostilities (whether war be declared or not), rebellion, mutiny, use of military power, or usurpation of government or military power, etc.
  2. Ionizing radiation or contamination by radioactivity from any nuclear fuel or from any nuclear waste
  3. Participation in adventure sports such as winter sports, skydiving, bungee jumping, etc.
  4. Any pre-existing condition(s)/ disability (Except in the case where the accident is solely responsible for any liability under the policy)
  5. Suicide or attempted suicide, intentionally self-inflicted injury or illness, acts of self-destruction whether the insured person is medically sane or insane
  6. Under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or other intoxicants or hallucinogens
  7. Participation in a real or attempted felony, riot, crime, misdemeanor, or civil commotion, etc.
  8. Operating or learning to operate any aircraft or performing duties as a member of the crew on any aircraft
  9. External congenital anomalies or any complications or conditions arising therefore
