Chola Mashak (Mosquito) Rakshak policy provides financial protection to you and your family against vector-borne diseases. This is a group insurance policy for the employees of an organization/company. The master policy will be issued in the name of the Group Manager and individual policy certificates will be issued to the beneficiaries (employees). Chola Mashak (Mosquito) Rakshak Plan Hospitalization Cover

The insurer shall pay a lump sum amount of up to 100% of the sum insured on a positive diagnosis of any of the following vector-borne diseases, provided you are hospitalized for a minimum of 72 consecutive hours.

  1. Dengue fever
  2. Malaria
  3. Filaria (Lymphatic Filariasis)
  4. Kala-azar
  5. Chikungunya
  6. Japanese Encephalitis
  7. Zika Virus

Chola Mashak (Mosquito) Rakshak Plan Diagnosis Cover

The insurer shall pay 2% of the sum insured for laboratory examination of every covered vector-borne disease. You can receive payments under the diagnosis cover for each disease only once in a policy year.

Conditions Applicable to the Chola Mashak (Mosquito) Rakshak Plan Benefit

  1. The total amount payable under the policy shouldn’t exceed 100% of the sum insured during the policy period.
  2. Any laboratory test not recognized/approved in India for the covered vector-borne diseases shall not be admissible for claims.
  3. On payment of 100% of the sum insured, the policy shall terminate for that policy year. In the case of a family floater plan, the policy will continue for the rest of the insured members.
  4. If you file a claim for Filaria (Lymphatic Filariasis), no other claim for this particular condition shall be payable to you for the lifetime.

Waiting Period

The company shall not pay for any of the covered vector-borne diseases during the first fifteen days from the date of commencement of the policy.

Cooling Off Period

If you renew the policy within 30 days from the date of discharge of the previously paid claim, a 30-day cooling-off period shall apply to the same ailment in the renewed policy. However, there would be no waiting period for other listed vector-borne diseases.

Chola Mashak (Mosquito) Rakshak Plan Eligibility Criteria

You can g the benefits of the Chola Mashak (Mosquito) Rakshak Plan if you meet the following age criteria.

  1. Minimum Entry Age – 18 years
  2. Maximum Entry Age – 65 years

You can also cover your family members under Chola Mashak (Mosquito) Rakshak Plan. This will include – legally wedded spouse, parents and parents-in-law, dependent children (aged between 1 day to 25 years). If the child is above 18 years and financially independent, he or she shall be ineligible under Chola Mashak (Mosquito) Rakshak Plan.

Free Look Period

You’ll get a free look period of fifteen days from the date of receipt of the policy document to review the terms and conditions. You can return the policy if the terms and conditions are not acceptable to you. If you have not made any claim during the free look period, the insurer will refund the paid premium after reducing medical examination and stamp duty charges. Where the risk has already commenced and the option of return of the policy is exercised by you, a deduction towards the proportionate risk premium for the period on cover will be made. If only a part of the insurance coverage has commenced, such proportionate premium commensurates with the insurance coverage during the free look period.
