ManipalCigna Lifestyle Protection Group Policy Base Cover

The coverage under the ManipalCigna Lifestyle Protection Group Policy is as follows –

Part I Group Personal Accident Benefits

In case you meet an accident during the policy and it results in any of the following, the insurance company will pay the benefit amount to the insured or his/her nominee, whatever the case may be.

Death Benefit – In case the insured dies, the nominee will receive the sum insured as specified against this section.

Permanent Total Disablement (PTD) Benefit – The company will pay 100% of the sum insured to the insured person if he/she suffers from PTD Benefit within 365 days from the date of the accident. And the covered PTD are –

  • Total and irrecoverable loss of sight in both eyes
  • Physical separation or total and permanent loss of use of both hands or both feet
  • Physical separation or total and permanent loss of use of one hand and one foot
  • Loss of sight in one eye and loss of a Limb
  • Loss of hearing in both ears
  • Loss of one limb or sight in one eye
  • Loss of hearing in both ears and speech
  • Loss of speech and loss of one limb or one eye

If the disability does not fall in the above and the insured is unable to engage in employment, the company will pay 100% of the sum insured if the attending medical practitioner confirms the same.

Permanent Partial Disablement (PPD) Benefit – If the disability is partial, the company will pay a percentage of the sum insured as shown in the table below.

Temporary Total Disablement (TTD) Benefit – If the accident causes TTD, an amount <= 1% of the sum insured or the fixed opted sum insured per week for the duration of TTD is payable. This benefit is available for up to 100 weeks, subject to the capital sum insured.

Part II Critical Illness Benefit

If the insured is diagnosed with any of the below-listed illnesses, the company will pay the sum insured, provided he/she survived the 30 days from the date of diagnosis.

  • Cancer of specific severity
  • Myocardial Infarction (First Heart Attack – of Specific Severity)
  • Open Chest CABG
  • Open Heart Replacement or Repair of Heart Valves
  • Coma of Specified Severity
  • Kidney Failure Requiring Regular Dialysis
  • Stroke Resulting in Permanent Symptoms
  • Major Organ/ Bone Marrow Transplant
  • Permanent Paralysis of Limbs
  • Motor Neurone Disease with Permanent Symptoms
  • Multiple Sclerosis with Persisting Symptoms
  • Primary Pulmonary Hypertension
