Coverage Options

Policyholders can choose this plan from Liberty Insurance on an individual and family floater basis (also includes children over 3 months of age). Here, the family includes spouse, children, dependent parents/parents-in-law, and siblings.

Multiple Sum Insured Options

The minimum sum insured under Liberty Group Health Insurance Policy stands at INR 50,000, while it can go up to INR 10,00,000. Policyholders can choose a sum insured according to their affordability. Also, the sum insured amount can be increased at the time of renewal of the policy.

In-patient Hospitalization Coverage

If a policyholder needs hospitalization (more than 24 hours) due to a disease or illness or accidental injury during the policy period, the policy will provide coverage against the following expenses during hospitalization up to the sum insured.

  1. Room Rent, Boarding
  2. ICU (Intensive Care Unit) charges
  3. Doctor’s fees & Nursing Expenses
  4. Surgical Fees, Diagnostic tests, Operation Theatre Charges, Anesthetist, Anesthesia, Blood, Oxygen and their administration, Physical Therapy
  5. Drugs and medicines consumed on the premises (hospital)
  6. Investigation Services such as Laboratory, X-Ray, Diagnostic tests
  7. Dressing, Ordinary splints and plaster casts
  8. Cost of Prosthetic and other devices or equipment (if implanted during a surgical procedure and necessary )

Pre- and Post-Hospitalization Coverage

Liberty Group Health Insurance Policy provides coverage against pre-and post-hospitalization expenses incurred on an ailment/ disease/ injury (which is not different from the one for which hospitalization was necessary). The cover will be up to the sum insured limit, and Liberty Insurance must have accepted the claim under an in-patient hospitalization as well as Day Care Treatment.

Day Care Procedures Coverage

If an insured person is undergoing a procedure or surgery (less than 24 hours) in a hospital or a specialized day care center (but not in the Outpatient department of a hospital), this policy will cover the expenses on such procedures.

Emergency Ambulance Charges Coverage

During the policy period, if a policyholder needs to be transferred to the nearest hospital with adequate emergency facilities after accidental injury/ illness/ disease, the policy will pay up to INR 2,500 per hospitalization per policy period.

Domiciliary Hospitalization Treatment

If a policyholder is undergoing medical treatment at home (for at least 3 continuous days) due to unavailability of a hospital bed or some other genuine reason, Liberty Group Health Policy will reimburse the treatment expenses up to 10% of the sum insured.

However, the domiciliary hospitalization benefit will not cover expenses incurred on pre-and post-hospitalization treatment and any of the following diseases.

  1. Asthma
  2. Bronchitis
  3. Chronic Nephritis and Nephritic Syndrome
  4. Diarrhea and all type of Dysenteries (including Gastro-enteritis)
  5. Diabetes Mellitus and Insipidus
  6. Epilepsy
  7. Hypertension
  8. Influenza, Cough and Cold
  9. All Psychiatric or Psychosomatic Disorders
  10. Pyrexia of Unknown Origin for less than 10 days
  11. Tonsillitis and Upper Respiratory Tract Infection including Laryngitis and Pharyngitis
  12. Arthritis, Gout and Rheumatism
