Base Covers

This policy from Kotak Health Insurance provides policyholders the flexibility of choosing from a list of three base covers or a combo of 2 covers or all three covers according to their needs. You can learn about each of them below.

Hospital Daily Cash Benefit

If an insured member needs to be hospitalized for in-patient care during the policy period, the policy will pay a daily cash benefit for each completed day of hospitalization. The specified number of days will be on an individual and floater basis for individual and floater policy, respectively.

Accident Daily Cash Benefit

If an insured person meets with an accident during the policy period and needs hospitalization, the policy will pay the daily cash amount for each completed day of hospitalization.

ICU Daily Cash Benefit

The policy also provides a daily cash amount to the insured member for each completed day of hospitalization in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) during the policy term.

Note: If an insured member has opted for accident daily cash benefit with this cover, the payout will only be given for ICU hospitalization following an injury due to an accident.

  5. Cosmetic or Plastic Surgery
  6. Hazardous or Adventure Sports
  7. Treatment for correction of eyesight due to refractive error less than 7.5 dioptres
  8. Unproven treatments
  9. Sterility and Infertility
  10. Circumcision unless necessary
  11. Intentional self-injury (whether arising from an attempt to commit suicide or otherwise)
  12. Any treatment taken outside India
