Future Generali Group Health Insurance Base Cover

This policy shall cover the following medical expenses incurred during the policy period:

  1. In-patient expenses
  2. Daycare treatment expenses
  3. Pre-hospitalization medical expenses up to 30 days
  4. Post-hospitalization Medical Expenses up to 60 days
  5. Domiciliary Hospitalization Expenses up to 15% of the sum insured.

Waiting Periods

The insurer shall not be liable to make any payment under this policy during the following waiting period:-

  1. Pre-Existing Disease – 48 months
  2. Specified disease/procedure – 48 months (Any Internal Congenital Anomaly) and 12 months (Cataract, Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy, Hysterectomy/myomectomy for menorrhagia or fibromyoma or prolapse of the uterus, Hernia, Hydrocele, Fistula in the anus, Piles, Sinusitis and related disorders, Surgery for prolapsed intervertebral disc unless arising from accident, Surgery of varicose veins and varicose ulcers, Joint Replacement due to Degenerative condition, Age-related osteoarthritis and Osteoporosis
  3. Initial waiting period – 30 days applicable to the treatment of illness

Exclusions from Future Generali Group Health Insurance

The insurer shall not be liable to make payments for a claim arising out of the following:

  1. Any admission primarily for diagnostics and evaluation purpose
  2. Admission primarily for enforced bed rest and not for receiving treatment
  3. Obesity/ Weight Control Programs
  4. Change-of-Gender treatments
  5. Cosmetic or Plastic Surgery
  6. Participation in Hazardous or Adventure sports
  7. Treatment in any hospital or by any Medical Practitioner or any other provider specifically excluded by the insurer
  8. Treatment for alcoholism, drug or substance abuse or any addictive condition and consequences
  9. Treatments received in health hydros, nature cure clinics, spas or similar establishments
  10. Dietary supplements and substances which are available naturally and can be purchased without prescription
  11. Treatment for correction of eyesight due to refractive error less than 7.5 dioptres
  12. Unproven Treatments
  13. Birth control, Sterility and Infertility:
  14. Medical treatments traceable to childbirth
  15. Injury or Illness directly or indirectly caused by War, Invasion, Act of Foreign Enemy, Warlike operation
  16. Vaccination/Inoculation (except as post-bite treatment)
  17. Cost of durable medical equipment like a wheelchair, crutches, artificial limbs, belts, braces, stocking, etc.
  18. Any dental treatment or surgery which is corrective, unless necessitated by illness or accidental bodily injury
  19. Personal comfort and convenience items or services such as television, telephone, etc.
  20. Any external congenital illness/disease/defect/anomaly
  21. Sexually Transmitted diseases other than HIV/AIDS
  22. Intentional self-injury
  23. Injury or Illness directly or indirectly caused by nuclear weapons/materials
  24. Alternative treatments except for Allopathic treatments
  25. Stem cell storage
  26. Outpatient Diagnostic, Medical and Surgical procedures/treatments
  27. Non-prescribed drugs and medical supplies
  28. Hormone replacement therapy
  29. Any kind of Service charges, Surcharges, Admission fees/Registration charges, etc
  30. Medical Practitioner’s home visit charges
  31. Attendant/Nursing charges during pre and post-hospitalization period
  32. Expenses related to donor screening, treatment, including harvesting of organs from the donor in case of a transplant surgery
