You can check your LIC policy status online by visiting the insurer’s official website. Using the policy status, you can check the policy-related information such as policy tenure, sum assured, the date of policy commencement, due premium, etc. If you are a new customer, you need to go through a registration process, keep reading this post further and know the registration procedure for online LIC policy.

Registration Procedure for LIC Policy Status

For registration to online services, follow the steps shown below:

  1. Enter the policy number
  2. Upload the scanned image of PAN Card/Passport

When the registration process completes, select the username and password of your choice. An auto-responder mail would be sent to your registered email id on successful confirmation of registration.

Note – The username can be alpha, numeric, with characters dot and underscore. And the password must be between 8 to 30 characters. The e-mail id that you have entered should be valid.

Enroll Your LIC Policy

If you have not registered earlier, visit LIC official website and click on ‘Customer Portal’, follow the steps shown below –

  1. Click on “New user”
  2. Select your user-id and password

If you have any other LIC policies, click on ‘Add Policy’ to enroll all your remaining policies. After that, follow the steps shown below –

  1. Upload Form or Check status
  2. Upload the scanned image of the registration form
  3. Upload the scanned image of PAN Card/Passport
  4. click on ‘Submit’ and you’ll receive an acknowledgment via SMS and email on your mobile and email id as mentioned in the registration form.

Registration for Premier Services

You can get e-services like policy and proposal images, claim history check and service request registration for an online loan if you activate LIC premier services. Follow the steps shown below to register for premier services –

  1. Visit the LIC Portal
  2. Login with your user id and password
  3. Fill the registration form with details like – Date of Birth, mobile no, e-mail id, PAN card or passport details.
  4. After that, all the eligible policy numbers enrolled will be displayed on the screen
  5. Print the registration form
  6. Check the details of the registration form and sign it
  7. Scan the PAN Card/Passport and upload the same in any one of the following formats – bmp, .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .tiff
  8. Now, upload the scanned image of the registration form

After the documents are uploaded, click on the ‘Submit’ button, an acknowledgement via SMS and email will be sent to the mobile and e-mail id as mentioned in the registration form. This request will be sent to LIC’s Customer Zone for verification. After verification by the insurer’s Customer Zone Official, an acknowledgment email and SMS will be sent to you.

Note  – You should be a registered user only to get the premier e-services. However, for policies on the life of a spouse, a separate registration will be required.
